Majestic: Epilogue

Image
The next morning, we freshened up and headed down for the buffet breakfast. Bumped into the same posse of geilous from yesterday. Once we had our fill, we walked over to the KTM building to admire its neo-Mughal architecture and do some cam-whoring. With nothing much left to do, we packed up, and checked out. Heard good things about Bray , so we gave it a try. Located at the quiet Menara See Hoy Chan, it would seem that they subsist on business from the developer's corporate office staff. The Seafood Stew with Saffron was pretty good (the pesto pairing a bit bizarre), but the ten sen face from the cashier really spoiled our appetite. Not impressed with the expensive almond hazelnut croissant. Unlikely that we would be making a repeat visit.  Waffles was next on our list, so we went looking for If Only . The location was a bit weird, so we had to double back a bit before we successfully found it. Our server was really friendly and she commented that KH and I looked like twins. That

Merry Majestic

Both KH and I were looking forward to our first overseas trip in a long time. We didn't brave that hellish passport renewal queue at Jalan Duta for nothing. Our tickets to Danang were for the 27th of September. Packed my bags, and ordered my Grab. But it was not to be. Super Typhoon Karding left the Philippines and made its way across the South China Sea, turning into Typhoon Noru. Noru was slated to make landfall at Danang on the 27th, on the same day of our scheduled arrival. Of course, the airport was closed, and all flights cancelled, and our travel plans were blown away by a strong gust of wind. My Grab driver was already halfway to my house when I called him to cancel. He was nice enough not to charge me a single sen. Dragged my luggage back upstairs with a hint of dejection. However, all was not lost. The ever resourceful KH immediately arranged a staycation. Packed my overnight bag, and headed to KL with KH, dressed in my short shorts and rainbow socks. Parked at Lot 10, a

Stripes Staycation

Mum was off on a trip, so KH and I went on a staycation in the heart of KL Tried our luck for early check-in at Stripes Hotel but our room wasn't ready. Ok lo, so we went for lunch at Kwong Cheung Loong Kopitiam , a pet-friendly kopitiam / cafe / bar. The lines are so blurred here that the guy next to us was having nasi lemak with his Golden Retriever at his feet, sipping a cold beer. Halfway through lunch, the front desk called to inform us that our room was ready.  The room was pretty nice, but the view was obstructed by the red brick facade that gives the hotel its distinctive look. The pool is located at the roof top and provides a view of KL Tower. Managed to squeeze in a swim. Our dinner venue was back at Heritage Row-- Kappo Takebayashi . Actually, we spotted the Japanese chef during lunch while he was walking his Shiba Inu. His cute doggo was staring longingly into Kwong Cheung Loong, hoping to join the other canines in there. Uncommon items on the menu like sea eel, but th

Birthday Celebrity

For my birthday, SK singlehandedly organized a staycation and a photoshoot for me. Our talk of a photoshoot had originated a decade ago, and it finally happened. On Saturday morning, mum and I skipped marketing at OUG. We went to breakfast with SK instead. Three of us shared a large bowl of fish head noodles ( with extra fish ) at Woo Pin , Taman Desa. Think the foreign worker was a bit surprised by our order. At 11 AM, all three of us went to 49 Hairdress Café to get a haircut. Been a long time since my hairstylist worked on both of them. With our hair all done up ( asked my stylist for something more outstanding ), it was time for us to start our staycation and photoshoot. Went home, loaded our bags, and headed to Lot 10 to meet Apollo for lunch. We went around J's Dining Gate, Lot 10's latest addition to their concept of all things Japanese. Quite a selection of ramen, teppanyaki, katsu, etc. In the end, plopped into Izakaya Hanazen for hot pot. The star here is the “

Face to Face II: Massage and Makan

Image
The morning of our Staycation was not wasted. Being a bottom, I was itching for KH's cock to be inside me. Yesterday's topping session... well... was nice.... but I still prefer to be the catcher. We got down to business and I got my sexual satisfaction, not too worried that our housemate would hear. Then we had a simple breakfast of buns and coffee from Family Mart before proceeding to check out ( no need to lock the door, just dump the key into an unlocked postbox... wow ). Our next destination was Healthland Signature at Taman Desa for a happy ending hour massage. Our Thai boy massage therapists were decent, but not great. Never knew that the signature branch had its own cafe. Finished past lunch hour, and boy were we famished. Even the roadside nasi kukus ayam goreng berempah had sold its last packet, and so we had to hunt for food elsewhere. Found Ohsawa Cafe at a nearby row of shops. The interior was decorated with Studio Ghibli characters, with Kaonashi featur

Face to Face I: Infinity Pool

Image
It had been a very long time since KH and I had a getaway, so he jio -ed me for a staycation at The Faces Suites, Kuala Lumpur. On Monday, I left work during lunch time to meet KH at Senya Dining , Intermark. Had a gyudon with onsen egg. The egg was served separately, and that gave me a 'great' idea. I wanted to film KH pouring the wobbly egg onto the top of beef-topped rice bowl. I got what I wanted, but the egg actually rolled off the bowl! Like watching Cooper's Hill Cheese Run. Before leaving, we had a coffee at Starbucks. The Face Suites is located just opposite Renaissance Hotel. The bad thing about is that you have to pay for parking. The good thing is that it has an unobstructed view of KLCC and KL Tower from its infinity pool. But there's a catch, you have to brave the the loads of PRC and Middle Eastern tourists who jump into the pool. Plenty of girls in bikinis, but no cute guys in tiny Speedos! The place is not just a luxury condominium, half of it

Staycation I: ShangSkank

Image
KH makes all his hotels bookings through hotel.com . To reward him for his continued support, they gave him an in-store credit of SGD175 to spend before the year is out.The timing was perfect. My quick-thinking hubby immediately incorporated that free stay into a staycation plan for my upcoming birthday. He chose the best deal, which was a night's stay at Shangri-La . On Sunday, I went to church as usual and went to lunch with mum at Le Pont Boulangerie . Recently, they launched a new menu and added more tables and chairs at the bakery. Business was brisk and they were obviously swamped. I chose several signature items from the new menu-- Sous Vide Duck Breast and Strawberry Symphony. The duck breast was supposedly infused with orange ( sous vide means cooked in airtight plastic bags ), but it was too subtle for me. However, the meat was moist and tender, and the pairing with blueberry sauce was quite good. The Strawberry Symphony was a puree of strawberries, oranges and cher
