Osaka's Bounty

Image
While we were sweating it out in KL, SK was freezing her ass off in Osaka and Shirakawa-go. As it is her custom, she arrived back in Malaysia bearing a lot of local products from Japan. Most impressive was the collection of fruits-- Kyoho grapes ( King! ), Muscat grapes ( Queen! ), red apple, yellow apple and peach. Just the grapes were around MYR100 a bunch. She also bought a lot of snacks but my favourite was the sake Kait-Kat. Love the aroma. That woman can even come back with a bowl of unagi rice and katsu sandwich in her hand carry luggage. She really knows how to bring the experience of Japan with her.  ありがとうございました !

Osaka Celebrities: Osaka Olaf & Gu Grant

Image
While going through Picasa, I realized some stragglers in my spycam folder from my Osaka Trip last July. Might as well post them before the year is out. The first guy is Osaka Olaf . I was standing right in front of him, so I could not get his whole face. Such a waste. Anyway, I love his scruffy, manly look. Works great for him. Oozing testosterone unlike your usual Japanese dandies and twinks. Definitely no squealing like a school girl in the bedroom here. Like his arms too. Yummy. GU Grant  above works as a cashier at GU Shinsaibashisuji. Not only are their clothes cheap and stylish, they have cute-sy staff too. This guy  rocks the lanky nerd look. And his lips look super kissable too. Can imagine moans escaping those lips while one licks his nips! Itadakimas!

Japan IV: Sayonara Osaka

Checked out of Swissôtel at 7:00 am. Took the train to KIX and had a breakfast of curry katsu udon at the terminal. Before heading to the gate, we made a toilet stop and when I got out, nobody was around. So I thought they had all went through the security check. As I was lining up, I saw SK and The Tribe, but mum and KH were no where to be found. Opps! I rushed back out to find mum at the toilet. Gosh. What a lapse of judgement to just go off without warning. And I saw KH making his back from the money changer. Past immigration, we did some last minute shopping. SK's colleague had the gall to order ten boxes of Royce chocolates. What a nutty request. She ignored her. We took longer than expected because there were limited cashiers. Finished our leftover coins at the vending machines and convenience stores. During the flight back to Kuala Lumpur, I watched two Asian movies. The first was "The Great Shurara Boom" , based on a Japanese novel. The story revolves around tw

Japan III: Gone Fishing in the City

How could one week go by without visiting the market? Even on vacation in Japan we did no break this routine. LOL. Kuromon-Ichiba Market is one of the must-see places near our hotel. Dubbed as "Osaka's Kitchen" its just a short walk away. We were all very excited at the prospect of fresh seafood! Along the way there we passed by many restaurants that no doubt get their fresh ingredients from the market. An old man was also walking in the same direction and he made small talk with us in broken Mandarin. Ojiisan: Going to the market? Moi: Yeah. Ojiisan: The seafood is very nice. But expensive! Expensive coming from a local! Yikes. But anyway, we were prepared to gorge. The market looked like the shopping arcades of Shinshaibashi-Suji but with a difference in decoration. Giant seafood replicas were suspended from ceiling. The place was orderly, clean, dry and odourless, unlike the markets in Malaysia. Upon arrival at the market, SK immediately went for

Japan I: Gorgeous Guys & Dreamy Deers

At KIX, we cleared immigration pretty quickly contrary to SK and KH's experiences ( both of them had visited Osaka before! ). Perhaps it was due to the arrival delay. The airport is pretty simple with no eye-catching features. Our first order of business was to purchase the Kansai Thru Pass. For just JPY5,300, one buys unlimited passage on trains and buses operated by forty different transport companies in Kansai. The pass lasts for three days, and the usage need not be on consecutive days. The only limitation is that it does not cover the Limited Express trains of Nankai Railway or Kintetsu Corporation. Doesn't really matter anyway as the Limited Express trains are just faster by ten minutes compared to the slower trains. Took about an hour for us to arrive at the Osaka-Namba station. For the whole ride, there was only one eye candy-- Kintetsu Karl, a tanned fella with big arms. Not very cute, but I'm sure some can appreciate his straight-ish charm. From the station, the
