LRT Celebrities: Mystery Hunk

Image
It's been a while since I posted any LRT Celebrities. My sincerest apologies for my lapse in providing a continuous supply of LRT cuties. Today I present you with a Mystery Hunk that I had seen several times on the Sri Petaling line. As you can see from the spy pics, he has a gym fit body. Look at those arms and nicely-shaped torso. From the angle of the photos, you can see his prominent nose and thick eyebrows. Hints of a macho face no? To be honest, he's not so blessed in the looks department, but from my photos, it gives an illusion that he is a handsome hunk. We all need to find our most flattering angle. Haha.

Staycation II: Hunting for Breakfast and Coffee

Image
All of us were exhausted. I vaguely remember the sound of the kettle boiling in the middle of the night, but I wasn't sure what time that was. KH nudged me awake and gave me a drink of water. In my sleepy state, I nudged his hand and doused some of the water on me. That didn't bother me at all, I immediately slipped back to sleep. I just slept and slept and slept, refusing to wake up until the curtains were drawn at 9:00 AM. Breakfast wasn't included in our free stay, so we had to hunt for food outside. Our first choice was the Imbi Market at ICC Pudu. We parked our car at the open air car park. The foreigner who was minding the car park was nice enough to tell us that the market was closed for Awal Muharram. Opss. Plan B was executed. We drove to Tuck Cheong Dim Sum at Jalan Kancil. That was closed too. Argh. Plan C? Randomly pick an open coffee shop. Celebrated Coffee House looked like a good choice. Always go where a healthy crowd is present ( even Myanmarese ea

Staycation I: ShangSkank

KH makes all his hotels bookings through hotel.com . To reward him for his continued support, they gave him an in-store credit of SGD175 to spend before the year is out.The timing was perfect. My quick-thinking hubby immediately incorporated that free stay into a staycation plan for my upcoming birthday. He chose the best deal, which was a night's stay at Shangri-La . On Sunday, I went to church as usual and went to lunch with mum at Le Pont Boulangerie . Recently, they launched a new menu and added more tables and chairs at the bakery. Business was brisk and they were obviously swamped. I chose several signature items from the new menu-- Sous Vide Duck Breast and Strawberry Symphony. The duck breast was supposedly infused with orange ( sous vide means cooked in airtight plastic bags ), but it was too subtle for me. However, the meat was moist and tender, and the pairing with blueberry sauce was quite good. The Strawberry Symphony was a puree of strawberries, oranges and cher

Nifty Nine

Image
During my childhood, the Nine Emperor Gods Festival was an annual event that I looked forward to. During the nine days of celebration we would go there on at least two nights. Different ceremonies were performed each night, coupled with lion dances and opera performances. Several mediums oversaw the ceremonies which included fire walking, dipping one's hands in hot oil, crossing a knife bridge, body piercing, tongue slashing, and beating with a flail. Always interesting to watch. For those nine days, I would be wearing a yellow cloth talisman on my wrist. As far as I remember, we would always attend the last day where there would be a bridge-crossing ceremony. Mum would make sure that we wore a white T-shirt so that the vermilion seal can be clearly stamped on when we stepped off the bridge. Once that was completed, they would cut down the tall bamboo pole with the 九曲灯 lamp and burn the whole bridge, marking the end of the nine days. But anyway, the point that I want to make is

Keep It Smooth

Image
Body hair is not something that I'm blessed ( or cursed, depending on your POV ) with. I'm smooth all over with the exception of my pubes and pits. Never had to handle a razor in my life. Whatever grooming I needed to do, I just used a pair of safety scissors . Based on my past experience, it isn't necessarily safe and it can be quite tedious. Not sure how many of you out there have tried trimming your right pit with your left hand. Definitely an awkward position. Got sick of that, so I did a little shopping on Lazada and bought a Philips Body Groomer BG1024 . Not top of the line, but from the reviews it seemed to fit my requirements and didn't cost a bomb. The trimmer needs just one single AA battery to operate and is waterproof for use in the shower. Supposedly, the blades are maintenance free, so when they turn dull, its time to get a replacement for the whole unit. Naturally I was hesitant about trying out the trimmer near my nads, so I started with my pits fi

Live, Run, Love

Image
The last time I attended 'A Run That Wasn't A Run' was in February of 2015-- the Alliance Pacer Runfie . In 2016, KH asked to me to join the IMU Chariofare . Woke up at 5:30 AM and by 6:00 AM I was out the door with mum. Easily found parking at the Sri Petaling LRT station and was at the starting point by 6:15 AM. The flag off for the 5 KM run was not for another half an hour, so we had a warm up session first. KH arrived at 6:30 AM. Moi: Why aren't you wearing your skanky pants? KH: It's just 5 KM. But I have it in my bag. Moi: Bring already then wear lo. KH: OK. Wakaka. For my benefit. From my observation, there weren't many 10 KM runners. The majority came for the fun run. In my opinion, the organizers weren't very organized. The PA system they used was quite a failure. Couldn't hear a thing they were saying. And when I could hear, I found that the language they used were bordering on bossy and impolite. Perhaps they are too used to

Looked up AskPos on FB and found that their hotline has been unavailable since early September. Syabas. So many livid customers there, especially those involved with e-Commerce.) After numerous attempts, I managed to get through to Poslaju Brickfields. I gave the parcel reference number to the nice lady on the line and she helped me to check the delivery status. Based on the sequence of events on the Poslaju Tracking website, I thought that they failed to deliver on the 15th. When I wanted to arrange for a second delivery, I was told that it wasn't necessary. According to the lady, there wa

Teochew Tryst

Once again, mum was away on an official function-- Mid-Autumn Festival-related. That gave KH and I another opportunity to 'hook up'. A good part of the morning was spent on that. Once we had rested enough, we called up SK for lunch. We ate at Restoran Hoi Kee Heng Hwa, a Teochew restaurant in Taman Desa. Been a while since we ate there. To replenish lost sexual energy, we ordered an oyster omelette. Carbs were from a plate of Heng Hwa Bihun. Also ordered a round of hot watercress drinks, something uncommon at restaurants. Tastes like sweetened watercress soup. Right after lunch, we went hunting for coffee. Gambled on Le Bon Cafe near LDG. Bad choice. We were greeted by lukewarm service and most of the tables had been reserved for God knows what reason. The owner couldn't be bothered to vacate a table that his staff used for lepaking . Sympathetic customers vacated a table for us to use instead. Coffee was meh too and here were no cakes. Won't be going back ther
